People love democracy until their candidate loses

If you throw a conniption fit when your fellow citizens don't vote like you want them to, you don't support democracy.

The 2024 Presidential election took place November 5. The person I voted for did not win. Instead, Donald John Trump won. He not only won, he won bigly.

People Love Democracy until Their Preferred Candidate Loses
Like I said, Trump won bigly.

Trump not only won the electoral college, he won the popular vote too. Even though I'm not a Trump supporter, if was going to win, I'm glad he won the popular vote too. Although it's the electoral college outcome that matters, winning the popular vote is important. It signifies the candidate holds the will of the people.

Since Trump was declared the winner, X has been insufferable. Even though I do not follow any political accounts on the platform, my feed is inundated with condescending prigs from the left posting ridiculous garbage. It honestly feels like they want people to march off cliffs to kill themselves to avoid the dystopian hellscape our country will become when Trump takes office.

Even though these people are Democrats, you cannot convince me that any of them love democracy. Not when they flock to X to denounce the outcome of a free and fair election. You either love the concept of democracy or you don't. You cannot choose to love democracy only when your favorite candidate wins. If you throw a conniption fit when your fellow citizens don't vote like you want them to, guess what?

You don't support democracy.
